I began digital photography seriously in 2010. I have no formal training in art or photography.
My images have been in shows at East End Arts, Art League of Long Island, Suffolk County Historical Museum, Remsenburg Academy, Guild Hall, Long Island Photo Gallery, Maryland Federation of Art, Southampton Town Hall, The White Room Gallery, Alex Ferrone Gallery, Hamptons Art Hub, Peconic Ballet Theatre, Gallery North, The Art Guild, Water Mill Museum, Southampton Cultural Center, Marblehead Arts Association and Heckscher Museum of Art
I have had solo shows at Jason’s Vineyard, Riverhead Library, Mattituck-Laurel Library, Hampton Bays Library, and Rogers Memorial Library in Southampton Westhampton Library. I was one of three artists in a show at Dodds & Eder in Sag Harbor.
I have had images accepted for publication in the Riverhead News Review, Attention (a newspaper in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico), The Wine Press, The New York Times, The Southampton Review, The Sun magazine, Hamptons Art Hub, and The Southampton Press. One of my images has been published in a photo book “San Miguel de Allende: A Closer Look” created by Photographic Gallery, SMA, MX.
Hallock State Park and Preserve and Stony Brook University Hospital have some of my images on permanent display.
When I began my exploration of photography I was living on the North Fork and was surrounded by farms, vineyards, and scenes of rural life. Not surprisingly, most of my photography dealt with landscape. We moved to Hampton Bays and the maritime environment engaged me and this is reflected in my photos. Subsequently, however, I have been drawn to the space between representation and abstraction and am more willing to take risks with my images. I feel very fortunate to have found this activity that so engages me in so many ways.
