Anna G. Franklin

anna

As a native Italian, Anna Di Turi Franklin carries with her the love of all arts and the appreciation of their evolution in time.   She cherishes this heritage that has inclined her to engage actively in painting.

Since residing on the East End of Long Island, it is the beauty that surrounds her there that inspires her to paint.  She is passionate about her painting and, executing what moves her, may take many forms.  She is equally at home with representational painting as well as abstract and says that, because of her imaginative curiosity, she will not allow herself to be limited to one form of expression or to one medium.  She is therefore a very eclectic painter because she has a visceral need to execute her emotions in a visual form.

Anna Franklin’s work has been seen all over Long Island, especially in the Hamptons hamlets, Brooklyn and Manhattan, in Naples, Florida.  She was a member of many galleries in Greenport, Amagansett, and  Bridgehampton and now, she is very happy to be part of Artblend.

She is a member of a Plein air group called “The Wednesday Group”, now sponsored by The Nature Conservancy in whose preserved areas they paint.

She has served for many years on the board of the Artists Alliance of East Hampton.  For 3 years, she was the president of the Friends of Guild Hall, an East Hampton museum and theatre, and for over 8 years she organized studio tours for such an organization.

Anna’s work has been bought by many local, interstate and international patrons and has been selected in many juried shows as well as receiving the honor of being selected in the Springs Invitational whose tradition of selective participants goes back to the famous “Hamptons Bohemia”.
