Artist Statement

I am a landscape painter who paints on wood.  As I paint, the wood’s grain becomes another layer of the mist or a ripple in the water.  Most paintings begin en plein air. In my studio, I rely on those studies and photos to create the largest paintings.  I love the spirit of the unique beauty of the open spaces of the East End, where I was born and raised.
